After travelling to over 60 countries people ask which is my favourite

Having travelled extensively people always ask which my favourite country is.  For those that have travelled the thing that defines your favourite place is the experience you have while your there.  An example is in Barcelona the first time I went we were pick pocketed on the underground, this immediately left a negative impression.  The next time I went back nothing bad happened and I came away with a great impression of the city.

I was lucky enough to go to Alaska in May and wear shorts and a t-shirt on the beach while whales swam by me on the shore but a little unlucky in the Maldives with a couple of days of rain which turned the water murky.

As a lover of architecture I really enjoyed travelling to places like Czech Republic with its Gothic feel and Russia with its opulence to Holland with the windmills and European feel.  I also embrace history and loved places like Italy and Greece, rich in history, ruins and culture.   Beaches are not really my thing however if you are going to a beach you need to try Australia or New Zealand with the beautiful golden sand (which Singapore ships in for its beach) as well as stunning nature.

Finally being an animal lover I have been privileged enough to see gorgeous rescue baby bears as in the photo above and be up close and personal with monkeys, sloths and wild cats that were rescued and not under sedation!

So wherever you choose to go remember its who you go with and what you make of the experience which will decide how much you like the place.  If you need suggestions or information on destinations feel free to reach out to me.

This has been a year of confusion for most people, for me personally its been frustrating, my husband finally got his travel visa for New Zealand in March this year only to be told by the UK (and our employers) that no travel but essential was allowed, so our trip was put on hold.  Immigration New Zealand kindly extended it to December 2020 but the UK went from bad to worse with it being impossible to make the trip there with New Zealand sensibly closing its boarders to everyone.

Events were cancelled indefinitely, and Facebook memories only serve to show how different this year was to last year.   Luckily I was able to secure a job in procurement and put this business on hold.  I finally have an event booked in Kosovo for 26 and 27 December only to be thrown into uncertainty again with my region going from Tier 2 to Tier 3 at Mid-night yesterday and to find out today we are now going to Tier 4 despite cases being low.  The big question for me is why did they not do this a month ago?  Is it because the government wanting to keep schools open and people going to work?  The message this year is Christmas is cancelled!

I am hoping things will change next year and we can get back some kind of "normality" again.  I hope everyone is staying safe and well.  Would love your feedback and comments.
